No - You do not have to sign up for an account to browse our site. However, signing up for an account allows to access more features and services that are not available to you if you do not have an account.

Is there a fee to create an account?
No. There is absolutely no charge to create an account. All we ask for is your contact information.

How do I create an account?
Simply click on the "New User" icon at the top of the home page and fill out the form. Upon submitting you new account request, an email will be sent to the address that you specify as being yours. When you receive that email, simply click on the underlined hyperlink that will be in the message and your account will be activated.

I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?
Go to the home page and click on the "Please Sign In" link. Once that page opens, click the "Forgotten your password?" link. This link appears directly below the Existing Users "Sign In" button. This will take you to the password retieval page. You can either type in you email address and have you password emailed to you or have the system give you the password hint that you entered upon registering your account.

I no longer have the same email address, and I've forgotten my password.
Unfortunately, to retrieve your password, you must have access to your old email account. The email address with which you created your account is the only address to which we can send your password. If the password hint does not help jog your memory, simply create a new account with your new email address, and you'll be on your way. Create a new account by clicking the "New User" icon at the top of the home page.

How do I activate an account from the previous version of SoutheastTexas.com?
Click account login on the home page. Enter your email address and the password used with you old account. You will receive an activation email. You will be able to activate your account there. Once activated, please be sure to update your user profile.

I am logged in with someone elses name and account
This means someone else used your computer to log on to SoutheastTexas.com. You must first sign off the current activated account (See very top-center of the home page), then log in using your account and password.

My Email Address has Changed
If you already have an account, log on using your old email address and password. You can then change your email address using the edit profile feature.
